Description

The Kneejerks’ third album – and their absolute best so far!
All killer, garage beat, surf rockin’ blasts!

This release features 16 toppermost tunes, including 15 original compositions written by their prolific bandleader Sir Bald(whose music has appeared in Stranger Things and more), plus one jaw-dropping cover!

The album kicks off with said cover — a ferocious, butt-kicking rendition of Gene Vincent‘s later-era classic Bird Doggin’. The perfect track for the Kneejerks to tear into!

From there, the album winds through a wild ride of raw rockin’ and punkin’ styles, spanning late 50s rock’n’roll and R&B, 60s beat, surf and garage, 70s punk, and the 80s Medway sounds. No surprise given drummer Bruce‘s pedigree — ex-Milkshakes, Headcoats, and even two albums with Link Wray!

Along the way, the ‘Jerks’ deliver every kind of raw rhythm and beat nugget:

  • Monstrous Link Wray-influenced rippers like Evil Kneevil and Loggerheads,

  • Wild organ- and fuzz-driven garage punkers like When Push Comes to Shove and What Did You Say,

  • Drunken frat-rock party anthems like I Want It All and Make It Alright.

There’s also:

  • The raw Bo Diddley meets Howlin’ Wolf R&B stomper Hell and High Tide,

  • The super slinky, moody Johnny Kidd-esque I Hear An Echo,

  • And the primal ’64 Kinks-style riff attack of Won’t Let You Down.

Of course, there are a couple of out-and-out, totally dancefloor-friendly twist’n’jivin’ rockers — Get A Move On! and Rocket Fuel — guaranteed to get your party started!

And for the surf heads: Baldie delivers his wildest ever Dick Dale meets Eddie and the Showmen reverb-drenched instrumental blast with the totally wigged-out Revelino.

Not to forget: multi-instrumentalist Pete Scoundrel (of Thee Cybermen fame) not only handles bass, keyboards, and backing vocals, but also takes bonus lead vocals on the exotic Catania!

A must for anyone into raw, proper rhythm, beat, surf, garage, and rock’n’roll!
Recorded at Gizzard Vintage Analogue Studio in London for that proper sound.
Undoubtedly Hipbone Slim aka Sir Bald’s finest album yet — every track a scorcher!
