Description
Prepare to unleash your inner Teenage Astro-Monster and spin some real rock’n’roll history!
Dive into the origins of wild rock’n’roll with this electrifying compilation! Inspired by the legendary Dr. Frankenstein duo that lit up the underground scene in the late 90s, this LP features tracks that shaped their raw, untamed sound. Think Link Wray, The Ventures, The Shadows, and more – a mix of instrumental rock’n’roll, lounge, and exotica to transport you back to the golden age of dangerous tunes.
“On a Saturday night in early 1999 the word on the street was that there was a new band playing in town: Dr. Frankenstein. As a young teenage astro-monster always looking for trouble I had to go and check them out. The band was a duo, two cool cats all dressed in black with rockabilly haircuts playing drums and guitar, a beautiful Univox copy of a Mosrite Ventures’ model, and they played wil  instrumental rock’n’roll that sounded dangerous. I started following these two greasers around, attending their live shows and started going to their rehearsals in Samouco after which we would go out and finish the night at the local boozerie listening and talking about music – Link Wray, The Ventures, The Cramps, Man Or Astro-Man?, and a lot of compilations like Ultra-Lounge, Born Bad, Strummin’ Mental and a lot of obscure late 50s and early 60s Wild Rock’n’Roll, Lounge and Exotica. This compilation represents some of the original songs played by Dr. Frankenstein and that shaped their sound.” Fred
