Description

Authentic Sixties Paris’ s act including ex members of Bang!.
Formed around the talented drummer and singer Erwan Pirot, Terence Christiansen will make you vibrate through his dreamy and spooky tracks full of heavy guitars, fat drum breaks, howling and powerful bass voices. Doubtless Freakbeat oriented, T.C. turns to a more Hard/Psych sound with multiples in u- ences, from Eddie Cochran to John-Sebastian Bach, Eddie Philips, Charles Trenet, Pete Townshend, and especially the one/off single British bands like the Plague, Cain, The Hush and many more. They’ll play popular Sixties Mod weekenders in the next few months.

* * * * *

At the very end of the sixties, the young Terence Christiansen flew to London to show his work to the British record companies. Unfortunately for him, after weeks of refusal, he started to loose his faith and simultaneously got increasingly edgy. One day he eventually met some self called “professor” Duncan A. Montague who convinced him to get cryogenized a few years until the world would be ready for his music. Terence agreed, and was then cryogenically frozen alive its precious tapes against his heart. Alas something went wrong, Professor Montague deceased and Terence was forgotten. Almost 50 years later, at a construction site, the cellar where Terence was based was discovered. Brought back to life, it’s his cherished tapes that you can finally listen! Back from beyond death, Terence Christiansen will make you vibrate through his Freakbeat tracks full of heavy guitars, fat drum
breaks, howling and Powerful bass voices.

As a matter of fact Terence Christiansen is today a Sixties-influenced act based in Paris. Formed around Erwan, drummer and singer the band includes also bassist Hervé and guitar player Christophe, who were the first to join. Thomas is the latest to join the band and replaced Erwan former guitar player.
T. C., originally very Freakbeat-oriented turns to a more heavy / psych sound.
Terence Christiansen plays its own material written by Erwan, and the influences are multiples, from Eddie Cochran to John-Sebastian Bach, Eddie Philips, Charles Trenet, Pete Townshend, the one/off single British bands like the Plague, Cain, The Hush etc…
The band is inspired also by Illustrations of the late 19th / early 20th century (British but also American like the Brandywine school), old comics. Architecture, photography and paintings are important too, songs must be “visual”, and images should flock to the listener. Their lyrics tell about childhood, innocence, frustration, communication troubles between relatives, friends, boys and girls. Universes are different, sometimes urban they can be Bucolique or creepy as well but generally dreamy, even if it’s bad dreams sometimes.
With the release of their debut album, Terence Christiansen wishes to play gigs around Europe and abroad so watch out for them.

Don’t miss this piece of history, you’ll ask for more!
