ANGEL FACE: Out In The Street LP

Lo-fi punks, Angel Face, are as supercharged as ever now that they’re back on Nihon shores after an August trek through the evergreen and Cascadian landscapes of the Wet Coast (that’s ‘Merican colloquial for the states of Oregon and Washington for all you non-‘Mericans). Taking advantage of their recent US run, their second since being invited to the long-running Goner Fest in Tennessee last year, they formally announce their upcoming album, Out In The Street, set for release on October 10th through Slovenly Recordings.

Carrying over songs written during the recording of the first album, Out In The Street conveys the band’s love of catchy early ’50s pop rock, ’60s garage obscura B-sides, and the high-octane blasts of ’70s proto-punk that have been molded over the years during the members’ careers in the mighty Teengenerate, Firestarter, and The Fadeaways. Produced entirely in their rehearsal space with an emphasis on budget quality and frill-less minimalism, the album’s release coincides with the band’s first European appearance at this year’s Funtastic Dracula Carnival off the Spanish coastline.
