On the non-album exclusive A-side, The Cynics blaze through a version of The Gonn’s 1960s classic “Doin’ Me In.” The B-side “Last Day” is an alternate take of a track found on the band’s 2002 long-player Living Is the Best Revenge.
Both recordings served as a test pattern for George Heide’s new studio in The Cynics’ hometown/stompin’ ground of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Funny thing about these songs: George admits the actual recording session, done during the winter behind closed windows and doors, was so fucking loud it could be several blocks from the studio! As if that should surprise any of you…).
