Description

Calico Wally’s eighth release introduces one of the most intriguing new bands to emerge from the Spanish-speaking garage underground. Glándula is a masked trio navigating the murky waters of raw, psychedelic Latin garage with remarkable confidence, delivering a sound that is primitive, hypnotic and impossible to shake.

The A-side, “¿Qué Voy A Hacer?”, is an original composition by Alberto Charro, built around a classic garage foundation and delivered with Glándula’s distinctive blend of urgency and attitude. On the flip, “Lupe Vuelve A Casa”, the band reworks a classic by The Shains, transforming it into a superb slice of Latin garage that perfectly complements the original while stamping it with their own personality.

Packed with fuzz, rhythm and a strange, captivating intensity, both songs burrow deep and refuse to leave your head long after the needle reaches the run-out groove.

The striking sleeve, designed by Cristina G. Tarazona with photography by Ana Manley, perfectly captures the band’s mysterious presence. Hidden behind their characteristic masks, Glándula invite listeners into their peculiar universe—not with confrontation, but with complicity.

A superb debut and an essential addition for anyone with a taste for the rawer, wilder corners of contemporary garage rock.
