I FENOMENI Ritornano in Garage

Italy’s garage beat masters I Fenomeni (Genova) strike back with a brand new EP on Lost In Tyme Records!

Ritornano In Garage features four covers sung in Italian, showcasing the band’s influences from both the raw energy of 1960s US garage punk and the golden era of Beat Italiano.

Side A (“Latto Fuzz”) opens with “Come Si Sta Lassù”, a storming rendition of The Changing Times’ “How Is The Air Up There” (also famously covered by The La De Da’s). Pure fuzz-and-Farfisa mayhem follows with maximum intensity. Next up is “Perché Sono Così”, a fierce cover of “That’s The Bag I’m In”, originally by Fred Neil and transformed into a 60s garage classic by The Fabs.

Side B (“Latto Beat”) kicks off with “Quando Il Cielo”, a brilliant take on The Goblins’ “We Like The Rain”. The EP closes with its surprise gem, “Io L’Ho Capito”, a rare track from Italian pop singer Fausto Leali, reimagined through a raw 60s beat lens.

Here, I Fenomeni capture the true essence of Beat Italiano: fast, melodic, slightly angry, and beautifully melancholic.

So sit back, open a bottle of Italian wine (preferably Bianchetta Genovese), and enjoy the phenomenal sounds of I Fenomeni!
