THE LOST CHAPTER OF GREEK GARAGE REVISITED!

In September 1992, during a wild, alcohol-fueled weekend getaway, a pack of teenage ’60s vinyl obsessives decided to turn the clock back to 1966. Armed with an obsession for Back From The Grave and Pebbles compilations, they set out to do the impossible: form a pure, hardcore, “orthodox” three-chord garage band in an era dominated by grunge and mainstream rock.

To lock in that genuine 1960s sound, they scoured every dark corner of Athens until they tracked down a rare 1964 Farfisa Compact organ from a group of gypsies in West Athens. Restored in Exarcheia, it made them together with other great bands of the time at era with an authentic Farfisa setup — setting off the legendary first wave of the 1990s Greek Garage Explosion.

From chaotic, riotous debut shows in Volos to legendary, sold-out nights at An Club in downtown Athens, The Odd Mods played with pure, unadulterated passion. Clad in Beatle boots, turtlenecks, mop-tops, and sideburns, they delivered snotty vocals, moody minor-key grooves, and wild, fuzz-driven instrumental mayhem.

And then, just as fast as they emerged, they vanished into thin air in the summer of 1993—leaving behind an incredible underground legacy and a trail of mythical tape recordings.

34 years later, history is finally set straight.

Sunnyboy66 Records digs deep into the vaults to unleash these ultra-raw, primitive archived tracks on vinyl for the very first time. Feel the freshness, the wild attitude, and the desperate energy of five young cats who lived and breathed true 1960s garage punk.

Strictly Limited to 200 7” copies worldwide. Grab yours before it slips back into the shadows!
